By bus:

Take the Bus no.79 from the Government Lottery Office and tell bus boy that we will go to “floating market” in Thai “Ta Lad Ngam” you won't miss it.

But today I rode my buddy named “Blue” only 10 minutes from my place on Charansanitwong Rd. From Charansanitwong road I turned to Bang Khun Noon crossway headed to Chak Phra road, see the map above.

Arrived at 8 am I thought it was too early but the market quite crowded.
floating market bangkok

Some shops didn't open, nobody was in tourist boats but around floating market was busy already.
floating market bangkok

So, it'd be better to fill my stomach now, after looking around, how about Mei Khrop? Oh no, too light for me.

Crispy dumpling? No, not enough!
floating market bangkok

What's about noodle?
floating market bangkok

Kanom Jeen(Thai Spicy soup noodles: rice noodle with vegetables. ) were tempting!
floating market bangkok

Well, Kanom Jeen Sao Ngam(sweet and sour Northern style noodle: rice noodle with pineapple.) was my choice.

After walking around for a while then looked back to the entrance there were more tourists than I thought. I saw some people were feeding fish or should I feed fish to make merit, oh next time better! Many days left until the end of the month.
floating market bangkok

But reddish fresh tomatoes in Som Tum did my mouth watering...
floating market bangkok

Then I heard the vender on the boat shouted “Ma Lai May Pay” “Wan Nee Wan Pra” !

“Ma Lai May Pay” means “Do you want some garland, Mister?”
“Wan Nee Wan Pra” ! means “Today was Buddish's day”

I may tell you that Pee or Pay means old brother or sister but Thais use for showing respect to senior people or customers.

Senier people? Should I be glade to be called “Pay”??
floating market bangkok

Took my eye back on Mee Khrop Phewww, Ok! One pack, but not now, before leaving I would get it.
floating market bangkok

To show how it fresh the vendor fried and packed Mee Khrop there.
floating market bangkok

This not for eat but for making merit, let them back into the river.
floating market bangkok

Then I decided to visit 3 market tour, the sooner the better.
floating market bangkok

Whoa Whoa Wait wait for me! Oops! Luckily, it's not the boat of my ticket.
floating market bangkok

The boat tour was great but I had to complain about how fast it was. It's difficult to
take photos so I could only use automatic mode.
floating market bangkok

Hello Halloo, Is anybody there?
floating market bangkok

Some very old riverside houses had people live inside, some were closed.
floating market bangkok

Boat is still important and necessary for people living here.

The house pier was maintained in Thai classic style the same as the day it was.
floating market bangkok

The traditional environment of the Khlong (cannel) remained the same as the day it was that questioning my sight was this place in Bangkok?
floating market bangkok

There are some new houses were built to replace the old ones.
floating market bangkok

However, some old house were maintained to keep their classic style and useful functions.

Life on boat was usual here.

floating market bangkok

We had 30 minus here, so I headed to the end of market because of the sign written “ Rong Kheay” means “Buffalo Farm”. At the present this place was closed, no buffalos.
floating market bangkok

But the day I visited, this guy was there gazing at me, oh, what now!
floating market bangkok

floating market bangkok

Children didn't think it was such a fun it was art working! But I thought I was interesting for family.
floating market bangkok

After observation family attention here, I was back to have some drink at the pier. Cheers! with a cold bottle of Keck Huay(Chrysanthemum tea)
floating market bangkok

Sitting there for a while I saw the old dock belonged to the house nearby. It might be usual for other people but I thought it was classic way of life.
floating market bangkok

And It was time to go to the next market.
floating market bangkok

People passing by in the cannel were always friendly greeting to each others hardly ever met in the city markets or in shopping malls.
floating market bangkok

Today was very bright blue sky, that was great for my landscape style photography, unluckily the boat I rode was too fast.
floating market bangkok

Flowers planted for welcoming tourist especially

Moving out off Bang Sa Phan temple with a bottle of drinking water, I was ready to fish feeding at Southern Pak Nam temple.
floating market bangkok

Nearly the temple, there was an astonish red house.
floating market bangkok

The boat stopped here for feeding food to fish but I couldn't take any shoot because of a number of splashes.
floating market bangkok

After feeding fish the boat took us back to Taling Chan Floating Market that was the end of the tour.
floating market bangkok

When I arrived the market it was so clouded but I was a bit hungry, some hot Ka Nom Tan(Sugar palm steam cake.) was a good idea, Yummm.
floating market bangkok

But this way there was juicy mango, ummmm...
floating market bangkok

Yellowish Star fruits made mouth watering!
floating market bangkok

Or gradually eat a cup of colorful Jello on ice? I didn't be hurry, It's just 1 pm. Today I did a lot!, I had just visited 3 markets, the rest of the day was the profit for life.
floating market bangkok

Adjacent to the market there was a pool surrounded by public park offer to visitors.
